The Memorial of Jesus’ death

Did you know that Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, or Father's Day, are not mentioned in the Bible?
There is only one remembrance it specifically states to keep.
The observance mentioned in the Bible is the commemoration of Christ's death.

This ceremony is called the Lord's Evening Meal, and it is also known as "the Lord's Supper,"
the Last Supper, and the Memorial of Jesus' death. (1 Corinthians 11:20; King James Version)

Why keep this date?

The Lord's Evening Meal is to remember and show our gratitude to Jesus for his sacrifice on our behalf.
Matthew 20:28;

Who established this remembrance?

This memorial was instituted by Jesus himself on the date of the Jewish Passover, and he died later that same day.
(Matthew 26:1, 2)

It was observed once each year by the early Christians, and Jehovah's Witnesses follow that Bible-based pattern.

When was it to be observed?

He introduced the observance after sundown on Nisan 14, 33 C.E., according to the Bible's lunar calendar.
(Matthew 26:18-20, 26)

Why did Christ die?

Jesus died for "the forgiveness of our sins."-Colossians 1:14.

When did he Die?

Jesus died at "the ninth hour" from sunrise, or at about three o'clock in the afternoon of the Jewish Passover.
Mark 15:33-37
