RIVERS NEVER FILL THE SEA

A TOWN IS BORN

A town takes a long, drawn-out breath when it is first born.
It bristles and yawns stretches and glows as it develops over time.
Each passing era buries its secrets deep in its furrows and locks its mysteries within its boundaries.
The land bears the scars of wounds of time past and its people.

In the late 1800s, the coastal town of Woodrose was not yet born.
It's a curious thing about territory and land, but it seems to follow the same pattern time and again.
The first pioneers of a town are the first to leave. Being quickly replaced once the harshness of the virgin soil has been smoothed over,
by businessmen, doctors, and lawyers that come in to assist with the further development of it. One such capitalist was Mike Mason,
a rich and smart land developer. Mike and his wife, Helena, both emanated from an affluent background of English and Scottish descent.
They had only one child, and they named her Katherine, though she opted early on for the more casual name of Kate.
It was around 1942 when the Mason's moved into the town of Woodrose.

PROGRESS WITH A PRICE

Soon, real progress came barreling down the tracks in 1944 when cast-iron, ornamental electric lights were installed along the ocean strand,
and a streamlined diesel railway station popped up. But the progress came with a price, and the sleepy town of Woodrose would never be
the same again.

THE PAST - WITH ALL ITS DREAMS AND PAINFUL MOMENTS- VISITS THE PRESENT

Those time-weathered moments of Woodrose perpetually played in Kate's mind, like a movie projected onto her brain.
Not all the memories were heartwarmingly good, though. And at first, she desperately sought a way to keep the reel to reel
from running those that she found were too fresh and painful to relive.

Eventually, she did find a way; she stored them in a strongbox and kept them securely locked inside her mind.
There they would be safely put away but never forgotten, ready for the day she might suddenly feel a longing to view them.

It was late on a Friday when the sun had filtered its last rays of gold in through the clouds, that the time had come unexpectedly.
Earlier that day, Kate received a handful of mail which she had set aside until evening. Later she remembered they were on the kitchen
table and began to go through them one by one.

Follow the ill-fated journey of two families; the Masons (Mike Mason a rapacious land developer)
and the Brennans (Ty Brennan a former boxer), as hostility begins between the two when Mason buys
out a home belonging to the Brennans, forcing the eviction of his family.

The animosity grows further when Ty's son and Mike's daughter fall in love, complicating matters.
Relive the 1940's in the coastal town of Woodrose, California. You'll uncover that a gambling ship docked off shore
ends up being tied to the Mason's in an unexpected way.

This involvement in the dangerous and covert operation will carry a heavy consequence for both families.
Meanwhile, a devastating cyclone was brewing in the Pacific ocean and wipes out the small town as they knew it.
